Kick some bricks in 1-9! (Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga in review)

It's finally time! Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga came out a few weeks ago and I'm finally ready to talk about it! I have always enjoyed playing Lego games to completion, ever since the original Lego Star Wars back in 2003, and through the years, the games have stuck to a relatively similar concept to that original title. They gained the open world element after Lego Batman 2 , as I mentioned a few weeks ago, but even with that, the levels were still the same style and very similar in terms of content. Truly my dream with this game was for them to take everything that they've done with other Lego games and just blow them up to an even greater degree. I'm happy to report that I have been extremely pleased with this game overall, and I think I will be for quite some time to come. I hope you'll join me this week on the Lego Millennium Falcon as we jump to bricky Lego hyperspace! A delightful look at a lot of the characters here on the main menu screen! I have a g

Okay... what just happened? (Ghostwire Tokyo in review)

At Bethesda's E3 presentation back in 2019, the world got a glimpse of what looked like a cool, but creepy, horror game created by Tango Gameworks, the same group behind The Evil Within games. A big thing about those games was the feeling of most survival horror games, where the player is constantly on edge. This game didn't really look like that, it seemed more in the vein of an action game that focused less on the scare factor, but the exploration of a vast, empty city, and in understanding exactly what had happened to it. The game was called Ghostwire Tokyo and, as Ikumi Nakamura said when she was presenting the game for the first time, "It's spooky!" The game finally came out a few weeks ago (on the same day that Kirby and the Forgotten Land released) and I've now had a chance to play through it. I'll try my best to capture my thoughts and ideas in this week's post, though there's a lot to cover and a lot of mixed feelings about it in ge

Three years is long enough... right? (KH3 ending spoiler talk)

Hey friends, this year marks the 20th Anniversary of one of my favorite series, Kingdom Hearts. To celebrate the special occasion, the other day, Square Enix released a video where they showed off three new trailers for games in the franchise. The first was a continuation of the Mobile game, Union X , or specifically the spin off about Keyblade Masters Xehanort and Eraquis's childhoods, then the second was a new mobile game which is having beta tests later this year called Kingdom Hearts: Missing Link , and then the third one... was Kingdom Hearts IV . I legitimately could not believe my eyes when I saw that logo appearing, I never dreamed that it would be announced only three years after Kingdom Hearts III , but I am so happy about it. There's not much to share on that front yet, other than a few very exciting teases, so I figured out that today would be a good time to finally talk about Kingdom Hearts III's ending, especially seeing how the game came out so long ago

A (Pocket) Dungeon-crawler for the ages! (Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeon in brief review)

Hey friends! I wish I could say that I'm writing about Lego Star Wars the Skywalker Saga today, but I'm out of town and I can't play it until I get back. I've heard from some friends that it's really good, and I'm certainly looking forward to playing it for myself, but for now, I'm just trying to kill the time by coming up with different things to do while I'm here. Fortunately I did bring my Switch and that allows me to kill some time with interesting games, some of which don't take very long at all to get into and just play a quick game or two. A game that immediately comes to mind fitting into that category is Shovel Knight: Pocket Dungeon . Anyone that knows me knows that I love Shovel Knight , it is most definitely my favorite indie game out there, and all of the different additions to the game through the free DLC added three more games onto what was already a very complete and fun package! Pocket Dungeon is an interesting spinoff of th

Kirby's back with a mix of old and new! (Kirby and the Forgotten Land, in review)

Hey friends! As you know, I've been extremely excited for Kirby and the Forgotten Land since it was announced a few months ago. I'm happy to report that the game is finally out, and after 30 years, we finally have the adorable puffball's first full foray into the 3D platformer space. Does this game live up to the hype, or does it come up just shy of the amazing heights that we had in mind? In more Kirby terms, is he able to Megaton Punch his way through Popstar, or will he be unable to scratch the surface? That's exactly what I'm going to cover today. I'm too excited to stall any longer, so watch out for the portal, because today, we're being sucked into a forgotten land! "For his neutral special, Kirby uses a gun!" A Beast of an Adventure!     Kirby games are never incredibly long, but what they're known for is being extremely easy to start, but pretty brutal in the end, and this game lives up to all of those conditions. The game does in
