Multiversus: Another Smash Clone? (Multiversus in early review!)

Image
Hey there, friends, several months ago, I wrote a post about a new Free-to-Play platform fighter called Multiversus . I said that I was really excited about it, but there wasn't much information about it yet back then. Since then, they have had a closed beta, and now an open beta, which I've been able to play for about a week now as I'm writing this. I am honestly really happy with the state of the game so far, and I'm confident that it is only going to get better as time goes on. They've promised a pretty solid lineup already that is going to be added onto in the months to come, announcing three new characters last week at San Diego Comic-Con, being Lebron James (from Space Jam: a New Legacy ), Rick, and Morty (who are both from "Rick and Morty," as you could imagine). Today I'm going to give a light sprinkling of what I think about it as both a Free-to-Play title, as well as a Smash Bros. style fighting game. Let's put up our dukes as I div

Kamala Khan... who are you? (Spoiler Free review for Ms. Marvel)

Image
Hey friends, it has been a really long time since I wrote anything about the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but I was sort of overwhelmed by how many movies and TV shows there have been, as well as how long I wrote for the Avengers: Age of Ultron review. It was a lot to process and a lot to write about that topic, but I'm trying a new thing this week, where I'm going to spoil as little as I can about "Ms. Marvel," mostly because the show just came out and I don't want to ruin the show for anyone else. This is going to be a positive review, I want to say that right off the top because I really don't see many people talking about this show and I think it deserves some respect! I've been a fan of Ms. Marvel and Kamala Khan for a decent amount of time, though I have only known about the character for a little while. Full disclosure, my first exposure to Kamala was in a Lego Marvel ( Lego Marvel Superheroes 2 maybe?) game I think, but I got to know the charac

Nintendo Direct... week? (Thoughts about this week's Nintendo news)

Image
Hey friends, it's a weird time right now for Nintendo fans, as the end of June did not bring the Nintendo-centered direct that we all expected and instead brought a Nintendo Direct Mini Partner Showcase, but now it seems we are getting something like a direct, just spread out over several days. Of course we got the separate Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope showcase on the following day after the Mini, but this week, we've now gotten several more announcements of really interesting games and I'm excited to share them with you today (if you haven't already seen them). This may not be a very long post, it's Wednesday of this week and we've gotten two announcements, but I'm hoping for a third tomorrow morning. I know that's probably greedy, but I just always love getting more news of game announcements! I'm happy with what we've gotten so far, and let's get right to the news! An Unexpected Sweet Treat!     As you may recall, we just got Kirb

Fire Emblem Warriors strikes again! (Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes in review!)

Image
Hey friends, a few weeks ago, I took some time to talk about the different collaborations between Nintendo and Koei Tecmo to make special "Warriors-esque" games based off of Nintendo properties. A few weeks ago, on Friday, June 24, the latest game of this type was released, a sequel to Fire Emblem Warriors , and a spin-off of Fire Emblem: Three Houses , titled Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes . There's a lot to this game that they pulled from both the Fire Emblem game and the "Warriors" formula, so let's prepare all of the units to talk about this lengthy spin-off today! Your choices really matter (Kind of)!     This game, as I said the other week, is very much a "What if" story, which eventually boils down to the timeline being pushed forward ahead of when it was in Three Houses . One little event and the introduction of the main character Shez, leads to things going completely differently for everyone, and though this game is based on fam

Mini? Booooo! Oh wait... (Thoughts on the Nintendo Direct Mini Partners Showcase)

Mini. The word that sent everyone reeling yesterday. There had been a rumor for the entire month that there would be a Nintendo Direct this Wednesday, June 29, but instead, the call went out on Monday that there was going to be a Nintendo Direct Mini Partner Showcase (say that 5 times fast) on the following day. The backlash was pretty immediate, and honestly somewhat understandable (though it's never really acceptable to be upset about what is/isn't shown at press events), based on the last Partner Showcase which I think was 8 minutes long and didn't talk about many games that people were interested in. The show that just took place today, Tuesday the 28th, was 25 minutes long, and actually ended up being pretty phenomenal, despite the jokes and fun-poking towards it yesterday. Join me today as I run you through some of my favorite announcements from today, some of which may surprise you! Remakes, Remasters, and Collections!     So many announcements came out of this
