The Happiest Place on Earth! (Thoughts on Disneyland Part 1)

Image
Hey friends! I'm really excited for what I'm talking about today! I have now been to Disneyland and while I wasn't sure how long we would be able to stay (after driving about an hour and a half from San Diego where I've been staying, in addition to the 3 hour time change that was still hitting pretty hard), we ended up staying until the park closed at Midnight! Today I'd like to give some thoughts, mostly about new things that I hadn't experienced before, though I may have to give some impressions about what I'm thinking about Disneyland attractions that also have a version at Walt Disney World. I hope you'll enter this original park with me, as I talk a little bit about Walt's original vision, as well as some thoughts just about the use of "innovation" in the parks. Let's Start From the Top!     This trip marked my first time going to a Disney Park since they swapped to the Genie+ and Lightning Lane model, and I will say that it worke...

More Gaming News? Always a Good Thing! (Thoughts on Playstation State of Play 2/12)

Hey friends! I'm in San Diego right now, and as such, I was going to take a little break this week, but then I got the notification after I landed a few hours ago that Sony had this presentation today! I guess I missed the news somehow in all the rush to get everything packed up. Today I'll just spend a little time going over the things that I thought were most interesting, while doing my best to touch on the few things that I didn't care as much about, but I know are a big deal to some other folks! Let's Sum It Up!     I'm going to get this out of the way right now, Monster Hunter is not really my cup of tea, so I don't really care about Monster Hunter Wilds . I do know that so many people are really looking forward to that game, and I'm excited for you to play it if you're excited for it when it comes out on February 28. It should be a great time, especially if you really liked Monster Hunter World or Rise . For things that I'm really excited abo...

Another Stroll Down Mean Street! (Epic Mickey: Rebrushed in Review)

Image
Hey friends! Last year, we got the remake of a little Wii game that delved into the history of Disney animation, theme parks, and even merchandise. I'm of course referring to Epic Mickey , which was redone in last year's  Epic Mickey: Rebrushed . I got the game pretty much right away, but I've been pretty busy recently, so I didn't have a chance to play through it again until pretty recently. It's still just as great as I remember it, and I'm excited to be able to write about it, and especially in a way that may actually be better than the original experience! I'll go over that a bit today as we travel to the world of the Wasteland to help a certain Lucky Rabbit, and redeem a beloved character lost to time. First, Time For a History Lesson...     Walt Disney didn't start right away with Mickey Mouse and his own company, his career as an animator began with Universal, and Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. Walt and Ub Iwerks worked together on the concept for Osw...
